Children’s Therapy

715171912Melissa* was unable to share her grief.

Since the recent death of her father, Melissa stopped expressing herself.

She was increasingly withdrawn at school and home, and her sadness only seemed to deepen with each passing day. Her silence was deafening.

Family, teachers, and doctors tried to help her, but it was useless. Nothing seemed to shake her out of her isolation.

Then she came to therapy.

When Melissa and I met, she was quiet and unable to talk about or acknowledge the loss of her father.

We slowly built rapport by playing games, doing artwork, and listening. We used stuffed animals to give her a voice, and she started talking about emotions through one of her dolls, “Bungi.”

With each session, Melissa opened up more until she eventually spoke about her father’s tragic death, how she misses him, and how he “looks after me while he’s up in the sky.”

327964397Give your child the skills to communicate.

Therapy offers children the tools to understand what it means when their chest hurts, their stomach flips, or they have butterflies.

It teaches them to be more mindful and work through their feelings in healthier ways.

Together, we can get to the root causes of your child’s difficulties and heal them at the source.

Let’s work through this.

Whether your child is struggling with anger, sadness, or behavioral problems holding them back socially and academically, there is hope.

We use active listening, mindfulness, Person-Centered expressive arts, and guided imagery to help them identify their emotions and communicate their needs skillfully.

Through our work together, children master skills to awaken their inner potential and SHINE! Call today, and let’s help your child thrive!
